Happy New Year! The KCSA newsletter is back after a little festive hiatus and we are pleased to announce we are ready to take member signups for the 2020 season!
There are two ways to sign up for 2020:
With a debit/credit card on our secure online sign ups.
Or, via our commitment form and 1, 2 or 10 check payment plans.
If you sign up before March 1st, you will receive an exclusive, 100% organic Kimberton CSA tote bag on your first pick up!
Although the farm has been in relative dormancy throughout December, we have been working on a few cosmetic changes to our website and share options.
First, is the introduction of our new box share. We ran a small pilot program at the Lansdale Farmers’ Market last year and following it's success, we are now offering this share type at the farm as well. So, you can pick up a box share at Kimberton CSA on our regular Tuesday or Friday pick up days or at Lansdale Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning from 9am-1pm.
Although the box share is primarily aimed at our farmer’s market customers, we also wanted the option of a smaller, weekly share to be available for pick up at the farm for members that want less vegetables than a full share but to pick up more frequently than a partial share. Please note, box share members will not have the option to u-pick at the farm. The share does, however, come with a 15% discount at the farmer’s market for any supplemental produce members wish to purchase.
The other change to note is a small alteration to our pick up times and farm hours. So small in fact, that I can only think of one member that this might affect! But for the sake of clarity and transparency, our new pick up times are as follows:
Tuesday
Pick up runs from noon until 8pm on Tuesday and then reopens at 8am until noon on Wednesday at the farm.
Friday
Pick up runs from noon until 8pm on Friday and then reopens at 8am until noon on Saturday at the farm.
Saturday
Pick up runs from 9am until 1pm on Saturday at the Lansdale Farmer’s Market. Box share only!
At this time we would also like to confirm our new business hours:
The farm will be open every day from 8am to 8pm during our 26-week harvest season.
This means u-pick is open to members every day from 8am-8pm during the harvest season. Members must check the board for quantities and availability of u-pick crops on the day they pick. Full shares can u-pick once a week. Partial shares can u-pick within the week of their bi-weekly pick up. U-pick does not roll over. U-pick is not part of our box share program.
And, as we are on the subject of times and dates, I'd like to finish up by confirming KCSA's first pick ups dates of 2020.
The first pick up at the farm will be on Tuesday May 26th or Friday May 29th.
The first box share pickup at the Lansdale Farmer’s Market will be Saturday May 30th.
Please note that Lansdale Farmer’s Market opening day is on Saturday May 16th, so there will be two weeks of market before the first box share pickup.
The harvest season will conclude 26 weeks later on Tuesday November 17th, Friday November 20th, and Saturday November 21st depending on your designated pick up day.
Furthermore, I can confirm that our annual, pre-season member pizza party is scheduled for Saturday May 23rd. More details will follow but please save the date.
